What Channel 12–22 is

Channel 12–22 runs between the Throat centre and the Solar Plexus centre, and it forms only when both Gate 12 and Gate 22 are activated in a chart. A channel of this kind is not something a person does or practises — it is a fixed wire in the bodygraph, a position that is either complete or not, decided by where the planets sat at two calculation moments: the moment of birth and the moment roughly ninety-three days prior. Nothing about intention or effort changes whether the wire is there. It is either drawn, or it is absent, and the diagram simply reports which.

The two gates that make it

One end sits at Gate 12, in the Throat centre, rooted in I Ching hexagram 12, Phî. The other sits at Gate 22, in the Solar Plexus centre, rooted in hexagram 22, Pî. Either gate can be activated on its own, and each has its own page describing what that single activation carries — but a lone gate is a potential, not a channel. It defines nothing by itself. Only when both ends are lit, forming the continuous line between Throat and Solar Plexus, does the structure complete and take on its defining function.

What it defines

When both Gate 12 and Gate 22 are active, the channel forms and defines both the Throat centre and the Solar Plexus centre at once. Structurally, this is notable: it wires a motor centre — the Solar Plexus — directly to the Throat, the centre associated with expression and voice. This is the specific topology the system uses to derive the capacity to initiate: it is part of what distinguishes a Manifestor or a Manifesting Generator from a Generator or Projector in the type calculation. Stated as topology, not as a claim about anyone’s character: a motor connected to the voice centre gives that connection a mechanical readiness to speak or act without waiting on an external cue. In the system’s account, a defined centre behaves consistently and dependably in its domain, while an undefined centre is described as more variable, more dependent on circumstance and surrounding definition. Whether Throat and Solar Plexus are defined this way, through this channel or another route entirely, is read directly from the chart.
