Channel 5–15 — steady rhythm
What Channel 5–15 is
Channel 5–15 runs between the Sacral centre and the G centre. It forms only when both Gate 5 and Gate 15 are activated at once — one at each end of the wire. A channel like this is not something a person practises or develops; it is a fixed position in the bodygraph, present or absent depending on where the relevant planets sat at two calculation moments, usually a birth time and a moment roughly the same number of days before it. The diagram either shows the line complete or it does not. There is no partial or effortful version of a channel — only formed or unformed, decided by mechanics rather than by intention.
The two gates that make it
Gate 5 sits in the Sacral centre and traces to the I Ching hexagram Hsü. Gate 15 sits in the G centre and traces to the hexagram Khien. Each gate can be activated on its own by a planet landing on it at either calculation moment, and each has its own separate page describing what that single gate carries. But one gate alone is only a potential — it does not complete the channel and it does not define either centre. It takes both Gate 5 and Gate 15, active together, for the wire between the Sacral and the G centre to exist as a fixed line in the chart.
What it defines
When both gates are active, Channel 5–15 forms and defines both the Sacral centre and the G centre. Because one end of this channel sits in the Sacral — a motor centre — forming it defines the Sacral, which is the condition the system reads as a Generator or a Manifesting Generator, depending on the rest of the chart’s motor-to-Throat wiring. The system describes a defined centre as a place of consistent, dependable expression — something that operates the same way reliably, rather than shifting with circumstance. An undefined centre, by contrast, is described as more variable, more absorbing and amplifying of what is around it. This is the system’s own account of definition and its absence, offered here as a description rather than a hierarchy of better or worse.
How it is read
Within the interpretive layer, Channel 5–15 is sometimes read as a steady rhythm — a wiring that ties the body’s response capacity directly to an even sense of identity and direction, rather than leaving the two loosely connected. That reading is a lens for reflection, not a tested claim, and it says nothing definite about anyone in particular. Whether Gate 5 and Gate 15 are both active in a given chart, and whether this channel actually appears, is not a matter of interpretation at all — it is a calculation from an exact birth moment, and checking it costs nothing.
