What Channel 3–60 is

Channel 3–60 runs between the Sacral centre and the Root centre, and it forms only when both Gate 3 and Gate 60 are activated. A channel of this kind is not a behaviour or a skill someone practises — it is a fixed wire in the bodygraph, a position that is either complete or not. Whether it is complete depends on where certain planets sat at two calculation moments tied to a birth: one close to birth, one roughly three months prior. There is no partial version of a channel. Either both ends carry activation and the wire is live, or one end is missing and the wire simply does not exist in that chart, leaving both centres to be defined by other means or left open.

The two gates that make it

One end sits at Gate 3, in the Sacral centre, rooted in I Ching hexagram 3, Kun. The other sits at Gate 60, in the Root centre, rooted in hexagram 60, Kieh. Each gate can appear on its own in a chart without its partner — in that case it remains a single, undefined potential, contributing nothing to either centre’s definition and forming no channel. It takes both, together, for the wire between Sacral and Root to complete. Each of these gates carries its own separate meaning and its own page; this page concerns only the wire the two make when paired.

What it defines

When Gate 3 and Gate 60 are both active, the channel forms and defines both the Sacral centre and the Root centre together. Because one end sits in the Sacral, completing this channel is one of the ways a chart can arrive at the Sacral definition the system associates with the Generator or Manifesting Generator types — though type is decided by the full chart, not by this channel alone. In the system’s own account, a defined centre behaves as a fairly fixed, dependable part of how someone operates, producing a consistent internal signal in that domain regardless of who is around. An undefined centre, by contrast, is described as more variable, more responsive to the immediate environment and the people in it. Neither state is framed as better; they are simply different modes of steadiness versus openness, as the system presents them.

How it is read

Interpretively, this wiring is sometimes framed as a current of ordered momentum — energy from the Sacral finding a channel toward completion and readiness through the Root, rather than dispersing loosely. That framing is a lens for reflection, not a tested claim, and it says nothing definitive about what having or lacking this channel means for any particular person. Whether Gate 3 and Gate 60 are both active, and whether this channel actually completes in a given chart, is a matter of calculation from an exact birth moment, date, and place — free to check rather than to assume.
