Channel 2–14 — steady directive fuel
What Channel 2–14 is
Channel 2–14 runs between the G centre and the Sacral centre, and it forms only when both Gate 2 and Gate 14 are activated. A channel of this kind is not an action or a talent a person cultivates — it is a fixed structural position in the bodygraph, a wire between two named centres that either exists or does not. Its presence or absence in any individual chart is decided entirely by where the relevant planets sat at two calculation moments: the moment of birth and the moment roughly three months prior. There is no partial version. Either the wire is complete, with activation at both ends, or it is absent, and the two centres it would have joined remain independent of each other with respect to this particular connection.
The two gates that make it
One end of this channel sits at Gate 2, in the G centre, rooted in the I Ching hexagram Khwăn. The other sits at Gate 14, in the Sacral centre, rooted in the hexagram Tâ Yû. Each gate can be activated on its own, and when that happens it exists in the chart as a standalone potential — it does not, by itself, define either centre or complete this channel. Only when both Gate 2 and Gate 14 are active at once does the connection between the G and the Sacral centre come into being. Each of these gates carries its own separate meaning and is treated on its own page; this page concerns only what happens when the two are joined.
What it defines
When Channel 2–14 forms, it defines both the G centre and the Sacral centre simultaneously — a single connection settling two centres at once. Because one end of the channel sits in the Sacral centre, a motor, forming this channel is part of what the system reads as the condition for Generator or Manifesting Generator types, where the Sacral is engaged and defined. In the system’s own account, a defined centre operates as a consistent, dependable part of a person’s makeup, generating a stable output others can rely on. An undefined centre, by contrast, is described as more variable — open to context, more responsive to what is around it, without a fixed way of running. This is offered by the system as a description of pattern, not a hierarchy of better or worse configurations.
How it is read
Held loosely, Channel 2–14 might be described in this voice as steady directive fuel — a wiring that pairs a G centre sense of direction with a Sacral centre supply of sustaining energy. That phrase is a reflective lens rather than a tested claim, and it says nothing definite about what carrying or lacking this channel means for any particular person. Whether Gate 2 and Gate 14 are both active in a given chart, and whether this channel is therefore complete, is something calculated precisely from an accurate birth time and location, and that calculation is available freely through any properly built chart tool.
